Cultural Exchange with Local Students

About this experience

This is something you won't find anywhere else in Bukit Lawang — or anywhere else in Sumatra. Jeri teaches English to local children and teenagers (ages 8-16) who dream of working in tourism one day. For 1-2 hours in the afternoon, you join his class. You chat in simple English, play learning games, tell stories about your country, and listen to theirs. The kids, who are sometimes shy at first, quickly open up. By the end, you'll have real photos, real names, and a connection that no trekking tour can give you. Your booking directly supports the class. Maximum 5 tourists per session to keep it personal.
